Unfortunately in sport you can have inclusion OR fairness, so unfortunately whatever the trans think is irrelevant. Going through puberty as a male confers lifelong benefits when it comes to strength/power and it can't be undone by testosterone suppressants.
In other sports the authorities have deemed that transgender athletes who reach a certain threshold should compete vs women. Transgender fighters have fought against women in MMA bouts. I'm not giving my opinion as to what should or shouldn't happen. I was just looking for clarification on it as this does appear to be a slap in the face to the trans rights activists who would be campaigning for the exact opposite and would want to compete vs women, not other transgender athletes. So it's either a tone deaf move from the WBC or an official stance has been taken that no transgender athletes will be allowed to face women.

I think this is a real test of the transgender movement. Will they fight for the right to compete against women in combat sports?

The bolded is exactly what they've done. The WBC have taken an official position that transgender will be it's own category rather than shoe horning them into existing categories. Many people may not be happy about it but as I said, you can have inclusion or fairness, not both. The science is pretty clear-cut on maintained advantage so I think the WBC have actually made a good decision, for once. World rugby ruled similar but left it York national associations to decide. Unfortunately (for many reasons!) boxing doesn't have one ruling world body.
I'm not sure the science is as clear cut unless you're an expert on the transitioning process and the effects of all the hormones and procedures and whatever else. I only say this because in other sports trans athletes have not been deemed to not have an unfair advantage. I'm not an expert, I just keep an open mind and as of yet have no firm opinion. One thing I do know is if I was in the body of a woman I'd be putting every male hormone into my system and getting every surgery possible to transition as I'm sure any sane posters here would also be doing.

Surely they’d be banned for PEDs pretty quickly if they did that?

All the hormones they have to take to switch gender probably puts the Conor Benns to shame. Unless you'd be happy walking around in a womans body?

It's pretty clear cut, hence my constant refrain of fairness or inclusion. A lot of sporting bodies have upped for the latter. There's a great podcast called the science of sport that has covered it a few times. It's a good starting point if you can be bothered/have the time/inclination to listen to it. It's a great podcast outside of that topic anyway, extremely fascinating.

But why pink, it's men Vs men (transgender) , it's like saying here's a pink belt because you're a bit 'you know'

From my very limited trans experience, the ones I've seen/met tend to over compensate on the femininity, and pink or purple is common.

Brave of the WBC because this isn't what these blokes want. They want to be included in what should be women only places.

Throughout society they're slolwly but surely getting their size 10's firmly through the door.

I told the missis yesterday about this new transgender division just talking about boxing in general ,,, She told me a story she had'nt mentioned before , apparantly before xmas she was out in a local pub for lunch with some freinds they go everyyear for a girls lunch at xmas .

Well she said these 4 guys came in all suited and booted in there finest dresses and shitty wigs , , she said they made Cinderellas ugly sisters look beutiful , and brought lots of attention to themselves because they were so ugly with booming voices , stating it was hard not too look and stare along with whisper because they looked what they were , 4 big fellas in dresses with wigs on ,,, Anyway she said it nearly strted when she was in the loo with one of her freinds and 2 of these guys walked in , her freind apparantly hit the roof and told them to fook off to the mens room .

Suprisingly my missis who is normaly VERY VERY tolerant of this sort of thing now thinks there weird and its disgusting they even think of using the ladies what if my grandaughters were in there she said , apparantly her freind complained to management who shrugged and said , were not getting involved in it ,, if they say there women and wearing a dress , nothing we can do about it

That paticular pub has a real nice outside area and beer garden ,, i seen a whole bunch of gays and trannys in there a couple years ago , they were doing no harm but certainly attracted a lot of attention , looks stares , mouths dropping , a mate said he's seen them in there on a nice day ,, may or may not be the same bunch my wife seen .

These people are a bit like snakes , some have seen them some have not ,, i know lots of people who have never seen a snake ,, yet my last house i would of seen 1-2 a year every year i was there i learnt never to pick anything up unless i turned it with a stick first , i only moved over the road and never seen one where i am , but next door has seen a couple ,, , on the river other houseboat owners have never seen them , i had a beuty about 6 foot sunning itself on the back deck , right place right time

WBC Prez Explains Further Details Regarding Plan For Transgender Category

Last week, the World Boxing Council generated plenty of headlines when the organization's president, Mauricio Sulaiman, revealed that the WBC was planning to create a new category for transgender boxers.

Sulaiman cautions that a new category does not necessarily mean that a new world title will be created.

The goal, says Sulaiman, is to provide a platform for trans athletes to compete in the sport.

Once the category is established, there is no timeline on when a fight could be sanctioned - which ultimately will depend on two trans boxers, in the same weight category, going pro.

"We don't know [when a bout could be sanctioned]. Our interest right now is the sport. At first safety of course for all athletes. If there is a common group of [trans] athletes and it leads to having more people reach out and register, we don't know where this could finish," Sulaiman told Sky Sports.

"But what we want to do is create a transgender boxing program. Not necessarily a belt, or a championship. Simply a competition, so they can be included in boxing and not excluded. We put this together, we're going to be working. We're trying to find how many potential athletes there are out there, so we can help them and establish a boxing program."

The WBC is very firm on adopting an "at birth" rule - which prevents a trans boxer assigned as a male at birth from fighting a boxer assigned as a female at birth (or vice-versa).

"The WBC medical committee and the technical committee met during the [WBC] convention. It was decided that the WBC absolutely rejects and opposes to any born man to fight against a born woman," Sulaiman said.

"We created a committee to put together a program for transgender boxing that can find inclusion to those athletes who wish to take part in boxing. But under this program that adheres to absolutely no man against woman. It is important to address the situation. Boxing is not a game. You don't score goals or break records of time. We had to address this. We need to include and bring the opportunity if there are potential athletes who want to box."
