I guess rainbow was already taken by the Commonwealth belts.
They were rainbow to reflect all the different nations under the banner of Great Britain.

I'm not sure the science is as clear cut unless you're an expert on the transitioning process and the effects of all the hormones and procedures and whatever else. I only say this because in other sports trans athletes have not been deemed to not have an unfair advantage. I'm not an expert, I just keep an open mind and as of yet have no firm opinion. One thing I do know is if I was in the body of a woman I'd be putting every male hormone into my system and getting every surgery possible to transition as I'm sure any sane posters here would also be doing.jtourettes wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 12:27TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 11:35In other sports the authorities have deemed that transgender athletes who reach a certain threshold should compete vs women. Transgender fighters have fought against women in MMA bouts. I'm not giving my opinion as to what should or shouldn't happen. I was just looking for clarification on it as this does appear to be a slap in the face to the trans rights activists who would be campaigning for the exact opposite and would want to compete vs women, not other transgender athletes. So it's either a tone deaf move from the WBC or an official stance has been taken that no transgender athletes will be allowed to face women.jtourettes wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 09:10
Unfortunately in sport you can have inclusion OR fairness, so unfortunately whatever the trans think is irrelevant. Going through puberty as a male confers lifelong benefits when it comes to strength/power and it can't be undone by testosterone suppressants.
I think this is a real test of the transgender movement. Will they fight for the right to compete against women in combat sports?
The bolded is exactly what they've done. The WBC have taken an official position that transgender will be it's own category rather than shoe horning them into existing categories. Many people may not be happy about it but as I said, you can have inclusion or fairness, not both. The science is pretty clear-cut on maintained advantage so I think the WBC have actually made a good decision, for once. World rugby ruled similar but left it York national associations to decide. Unfortunately (for many reasons!) boxing doesn't have one ruling world body.
Surely they’d be banned for PEDs pretty quickly if they did that?TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 16:14I'm not sure the science is as clear cut unless you're an expert on the transitioning process and the effects of all the hormones and procedures and whatever else. All the hormones they have to take to switch gender probably puts the Conor Benns to shame. Unless you'd be happy walking around in a womans body?Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 16:39Surely they’d be banned for PEDs pretty quickly if they did that?TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 16:14I'm not sure the science is as clear cut unless you're an expert on the transitioning process and the effects of all the hormones and procedures and whatever else. It's pretty clear cut, hence my constant refrain of fairness or inclusion. A lot of sporting bodies have upped for the latter. There's a great podcast called the science of sport that has covered it a few times. It's a good starting point if you can be bothered/have the time/inclination to listen to it. It's a great podcast outside of that topic anyway, extremely fascinating.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 16:14I'm not sure the science is as clear cut unless you're an expert on the transitioning process and the effects of all the hormones and procedures and whatever else. But why pink, it's men Vs men (transgender) , it's like saying here's a pink belt because you're a bit 'you know'
From my very limited trans experience, the ones I've seen/met tend to over compensate on the femininity, and pink or purple is common.Old bones Ian wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 17:00But why pink, it's men Vs men (transgender) , it's like saying here's a pink belt because you're a bit 'you know'

That paticular pub has a real nice outside area and beer garden ,, i seen a whole bunch of gays and trannys in there a couple years ago , they were doing no harm but certainly attracted a lot of attention , looks stares , mouths dropping , a mate said he's seen them in there on a nice day ,, may or may not be the same bunch my wife seen .margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Jan 2023, 20:42 a bunch of big obnoxious trannies in the ladies room, sounds like a fox news wetdream.
tbh ive never e ven known a trans person, their percentage of the population is utterly tiny, it's funny to me when some dudes can roll out all these stories about them, like, where do your peeps hang out![]()
