There’s no point having a channel unless you’ve got enough content. With the boxing, PFL stuff, pro wrestling, women’s champions league they’ve probably got enough now to be able to not have to show the same stuff day after day.
I’d also imagine Sky made it a long winded process for them.

I would guess their streaming platform has been designed the way it has, and currently it’s too complicated to align the customer log in feature with the new linear channel set up. Maybe over time they’ll work it out. Would be interesting to know in other countries where they have linear channels.

2019 was helped by some chunky money from their overseas owned businesses (£3.6m) - it would have been from one of their country specific boxing entities but I can’t see what’s in there and whether it’s some sort of tax write off or whether it’s genuine income.
Operating profit for y/e June 2022 was £12.6m vs £9.8m of 2019 but net profit was higher in 2019 because of the above.
It seems their revenue has come down massively but I’d imagine it’s down to how the deals work. I.e. previously Sky would pay Matchroom all of the non-Sky share of the PPV shows and they then distribute to the fighters whilst that model is probably different now so someone like Canelo is paid directly by DAZN I’d guess.

The main issue is that they’re out of date. You have 9 months to file following a year end most companies that are private tend to make use of it. You can still take a fair bit from them though.
Still no Premier League football on the new contract for DAZN with SKY & TNT carrying on and SKY having the vast majority of matches now. Wonder what that does for the budget for boxing etc ?
DAZN were very clear that they wanted Premier League, Champions League and F1.
Premier League tied up now til 2030.
Champs League tied up til 2027
F1 tied up til 2029.
Unless DAZN can do some kind of strategic deal, and the Discovery torpedo shows how small they are, then I stand by my guns that they are pretty much done as a serious channel in the UK, and probably the US too.
