I was just being childish but is the hurdles distance really different?
Women throw lighter shot puts and javelins
Does that not make them trip over the hurdles?
How do they even manage to pick them up and throw them while wearing boxing gloves?

No, I guess that is why they are lighter, so they don't trip....

Well I guess this is a sport where fatigue could have disastrous consequences - so will need to be careful. I am all for it in theory, but we wouldn't expect a novice to compete in 3 minutes rounds not just because of lack of ability but because he might not have the "built up stamina" and two novices being absolutely fucked because they haven't got the stamina could be a disaster.

If they don't have the stamina then injuries could happen - so would need to dread carefully.

On a side note, Cameron would smash Taylor over 3 minute rounds, the way Taylor puts everything into the 2 minutes and is gasping between rounds. She has an excellent recovery but I think 3 minutes would see her getting KO'd.

It’s reasonably rare that novices don’t do 3s?
Do you mean amateurs?

I think 12 x 3s for women will be a disaster for boxing.

Right now they look like women. There is plenty of action and it's over relatively quickly. I like the sport.

Women getting badly beaten up will be a huge red flag for me. And we will just end up with women who just about qualify as women.

The first time there's a female fatality we're fucked.

It is beyond me why anyone thinks this is a good idea.

Would you approve of mens rounds being changed to 10 x 2s?

Ah.
This is concerning professional boxing.
No idea, I don’t have any interest in YouTuber boxing.

Same reasons you'd use for female boxing?
I'm not looking for an argument with a stranger on the internet, it was a face value question.
Its not inconceivable, another step along the way from dropping 15 rounders to 12.

Dropping down from 15 to 12 was bad enough.

A female fatality will be far more tragic than a man dying in the ring or from injuries sustained in the ring. The last 1,000 years of art and literature is all the proof you need.

I respectfully disagree. Any fatality from boxing is a tragedy, however statistically rare it may be, regardless of whether the boxer is male or female. Whether the press make something of it will depend on whether it is in a televised, high-profile fight or tucked away on a small-hall undercard, just as it would be for a male fatality. As for art and literature, whether in the last 1000 years or back into the classical period, I don't see it provides any proof or evidence relevant to this. To me, history points the other way - in the 1952 Olympics, the longest individual distance that women were allowed to run was 200m, because men feared they were physiologically incapable of anything more, and look how that view has aged. And I suspect Boudicca and Tomyris would have been quite comfortable with the concept of 12 x 3s.

But each to their own - I appreciate we are unlikely to agree on this.

Nobody cares. The headlines for a female fatality have already been written. And if she has a kid...
