So basically we’re in agreement thenmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑02 Mar 2024, 11:50that's exactly what happened if someone thought haye was good enough to pull off results he never managed
not sure why it's so hard to grasp that someone can have a really good career and still fall short of someone's expectations - which may not have been the same as your expectations btw. it's all relative to what someone thought they could/would accomplish, simply saying 'oh but so and so won a title etc' misses the point.
Expected more …

Not really
Just laughing at these generalistic posts which make no bloomin sense!
And regular posters give them credence.
Yeah. David Haye/BJS and Kirkland Laing
Didn’t meet “expectations”
I totally agree. FFS!

come on Bercli, he did beat Valuev, he avoided Valuev's punches stole the rounds and badly wobbled him in the 12th.

Why we get our predictions wrong.
Because we are British and back our lad.

Haha you slag.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑02 Mar 2024, 00:16 tbf there was a LOT of hype around haye, many people saying he was gonna destroy klit and rid the division of boring giants etc. ended up giving his own very boring performance in a wide loss and never really sustained much momentum after that.
defo at hw i think he can qualify , clearly many ppl thought he was good enough to achieve more than he did
look at this, haye was favoured in the poll here and loads in the threads saying he'll blast klit out - the below is just a small sample. viewtopic.php?p=2937008&hilit=

Dean Francis until Undra White destroyed his shoulder. I don’t think from memory White was ever invited back to fight in the UK. Prospects must have not wanted to take the risk!

Was it deliberate? A few people were backing him to beat Calzaghe. I'm not sure about that but he was dynamite. Re: Expected more …
I think it was just Undra White’s hard head and short height that made him awkward. I don’t think he would have beaten Calzaghe but deserved a shot. He was better than Glenn Catley, the other Bristol fighter. So he definitely missed out on lots of title shots.wrighty wrote: ↑02 Mar 2024, 19:29Was it deliberate? Re: Expected more …
francis still did pretty well after that i think , english/commonwealth/brit titles. but he got too heavy and some of the spark left him
as for the shoulder incident - clearly francis threw it out with that right hand, white not to blame

Cleverly might be a shout for some.
I think Bellew recovered from Stevenson better than Cleverly from Kovalev, apparently making the difference in their rematch.

Supose wether somone under achieved or over acheived , And lets not forget there is a very fine line in difference depends on wether you like the fighter or not ,

I must admit to being extremely disappointed Big John Fury. He was all 'I'm a fighting man who will fight any man!'.
Yet, since that statement he's:
Ducked Joe Egan 4 times
Ducked Dominic Negus twice
Ducked Carl Froch
I expected more...
