that's exactly what happened if someone thought haye was good enough to pull off results he never managed

not sure why it's so hard to grasp that someone can have a really good career and still fall short of someone's expectations - which may not have been the same as your expectations btw. it's all relative to what someone thought they could/would accomplish, simply saying 'oh but so and so won a title etc' misses the point.

tbf there was a LOT of hype around haye, many people saying he was gonna destroy klit and rid the division of boring giants etc. ended up giving his own very boring performance in a wide loss and never really sustained much momentum after that.

I think it was just Undra White’s hard head and short height that made him awkward. I don’t think he would have beaten Calzaghe but deserved a shot. He was better than Glenn Catley, the other Bristol fighter. So he definitely missed out on lots of title shots.
