Amateur Career

  • Dickens had a strong amateur boxing career, starting at 12 in Liverpool, training at clubs like Salisbury ABC and Everton Red Triangle. He represented England internationally, winning European junior medals (Bronze at Schools, Gold at EU) and a Commonwealth Youth Silver. Dickens also won the senior ABA bantamweight title in 2010 before turning pro in 2011.

  • Dickens first won the interim WBA super featherweight title by defeating Olympic Gold medalist Albert Batyrgaziev on July 02, 2025. On December 05, the WBA announced he will be elevated to full champion, after Lamont Roach Jr. moved up two divisions to fight Isaac Cruz.
  • Dickens was scheduled to defend his WBA world title on December 27, 2025, against Hayato Tsutsumi in Riyadh, but the fight was cancelled after Tsutsumi suffered an orbital fracture (a break in the bone beneath the eye) during training.
