Notes
- Johnston was originally declared the winner by Majority decision. Several minutes later it was discovered that Judge Ken Morita's scorecard (originally 115-114 Johnston) had been added incorrectly and should have read 114-114, thus allowing Castillo to retain his title. Castillo was notified when Johnston showed up at his dressing room to give back the belt.
- ESPN analyst Scott LeDoux scored the bout 115-115. [1]
- According to Compubox, Castillo landed 195 of 1097 punches (18 percent), and Johnston connected on 208 of 886 (23 percent). [2]
