Kenneth Egan
Kenneth Egan (b. January 07 1982) is an amateur boxer best known for winning an Olympic silver medal as a Light heavyweight at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games. Egan also won a bronze at the European championships in 2006 at light-heavy.
Amateur career
Egan won the national championships from 2005 to 2007 twice against Darren O'Neill. At the Euro 2006 he lost his semifinal to eventual winner Artur Beterbiev of Russia. At the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships he beat Julius Jackson and Julio Castillo then lost to Marijo Sivolija. At the first Olympic qualifier the southpaw was upset by Ramazan Magomedov, at the second he beat four fighters including Kennedy Katende and made it to Beijing.
