Maxie Farber was the brother of fellow boxers Lew Farber and Mickey Farber (who fought early in his career also as "Maxie Farber"). They had a non-boxing brother, Abe, and sisters, Dora, Mae, and Eva. A sister, Lillian, died during Flu epidemic of 1919.*
