Amateur Career

  • At 11, Gorman weighed 70kg (almost 11 stone) and was a fully fledged 95 kilo (15 stone) super heavyweight at just 15. Gorman spent eight years as an amateur and had only 12 fights, winning 11. Gorman won the Youth ABA's, Three Nations and got to the GB set-up. He got to the semi finals of the World Youth Championships but had to withdraw due to a damaged jaw.
