• Born in the United States, Romero is of Cuban descent. His father Rolando Romero Sr., was a boxer in Cuba and won the National Title there three times.[1]
• Rolly Romero had a relatively brief amateur boxing career, reportedly with 35 fights, and also spent seven years training in judo before transitioning to professional boxing in 2016. His amateur period was focused on developing fundamental skills and an aggressive style, which he then took into his professional debut at age 21.
