Amateur Career

• Stephen Ormond started boxing at St Matthews A.B.C. in Dublin. Ormond has had well over 200 amateur bouts, possibly near enough 250, and lost roughly 25. Ormond won two All Ireland Junior Titles at featherweight and three All Ireland Senior Titles; one at featherweight and two at lightweight. Ormond boxed roughly 30 times for Ireland and went to multi-nations tournaments all over the world, but never got selected for any major tournaments, although he was due to go to the World Seniors in Bangkok, but unfortunately sustained an injury. Ormond boxed Andre Dirrell at featherweight during his amateur career.
