Based on his reputation of not being coachable. His comments in the past that assert that accusation. His underperformance to his natural abilities...his only recent agreement to engage in a proper training camp with a proper trainer. Had he put in the work to really learn his craft, he'd be a great fighter.

He could well pick up a version of the world title. Heck his former foe Yildirim by all
Account ran Direll (current WBC title holder) very close.

I get that, in fact I think he’ll likely win a version of the world title before he retires (one of the so called top four, not his IBO bauble). The depth at Super Middle is absolutely dire though.

I don’t think he’s hopeless, but he is very limited at top level. His feet are terrible and he doesn’t have the tong intelligence to change up or down mid fight. I don’t rate his ability to judge distance affectively and he’s no where near as good at ducking and rolling as he thinks he is.

He seems to have a decent chin and a good engine, and when he’s composed his shots are generally delivered well (esp his uppercut) but it’s all a bit mechanical.

His legacy is also built on sand. The lads 30 and his best wins are over an ancient Abraham, a DeGale who’d slidden far enough to be taken life and death with Caleb Truax

Benn, Eubank, Watson and Collins all fought back in their era.

All started as Middleweights, all avoided Herol Graham.

A bit unfair to put Watson in as a alleged Graham ducker.

Graham was a world ranked fighter in the late 80s when Watson was still domestic/Euro level.

By the time Watson achieved world level status, Graham's stock was in decline following his splattering at the hands of Jackson, then shortly after, Watson was permanently retired for reasons we all know too well.

It's definitely a real problem these days and it has been over the past decade or so... We really could have had great trilogies between really even-enough fighters, but instead they've chosen to stay out of each others way for the most part.

Groves vs DeGale II and III would have been fascinating.
Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - really think we could have 3 different endings to a fight like that.
John Duddy vs Andy Lee - could have been 3 barnstormers...
Then you have the Middleweight trio; Darren Barker, Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray with not a single fight between them.

Definitely chances missed...
I'd probably also throw in Froch vs DeGale and AJ vs Chisora as single fights we didn't see...
