Is Chris Eubank Jr wasting his career?

Tells you something that Booth walked away. Nothing is going to change. Too bad.3132DW wrote: ↑24 Sep 2019, 15:15Thought when he joined Adam Booth he’d really help Eubank then he walked away as well - nobody wants the hassle with the Dad in tow.oogiebe wrote: ↑24 Sep 2019, 14:03

I get that, in fact I think he’ll likely win a version of the world title before he retires (one of the so called top four, not his IBO bauble). The depth at Super Middle is absolutely dire though.black panther wrote: ↑21 Sep 2019, 18:36 Don’t think Eubank jr is as bad as some people here are making out.
He could well pick up a version of the world title. Heck his former foe Yildirim by all
Account ran Direll (current WBC title holder) very close.
I don’t think he’s hopeless, but he is very limited at top level. His feet are terrible and he doesn’t have the tong intelligence to change up or down mid fight. I don’t rate his ability to judge distance affectively and he’s no where near as good at ducking and rolling as he thinks he is.
He seems to have a decent chin and a good engine, and when he’s composed his shots are generally delivered well (esp his uppercut) but it’s all a bit mechanical.
His legacy is also built on sand. The lads 30 and his best wins are over an ancient Abraham, a DeGale who’d slidden far enough to be taken life and death with Caleb Truax
I don’t think he’s terrible but I’m also shocked when people (not necessarily you mate) talk him up like he’s anything special

A bit unfair to put Watson in as a alleged Graham ducker.
Graham was a world ranked fighter in the late 80s when Watson was still domestic/Euro level.
By the time Watson achieved world level status, Graham's stock was in decline following his splattering at the hands of Jackson, then shortly after, Watson was permanently retired for reasons we all know too well.

Same here, he's gifted physically, but very limited and one dimensional.black panther wrote: ↑26 Sep 2019, 17:20Good post mate agree with everything you say.fizzjambo wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 03:22![]()

Only Chris Eubank Jr can answer this question.
He obviously would like to be a world champion I would have thought but he might be perfectly happy with his bank balance and his current health.

Apparently he's still calling himself #nextgen on Twitter. He's 30.

Don't have to be making anything to be more interested in 'social media life' or 'C level celeb life' than 'boxing life'

He’ll be in Celeb Big Brother before he actually fights again.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑12 Oct 2019, 20:37 Don't have to be making anything to be more interested in 'social media life' or 'C level celeb life' than 'boxing life'

All quiet on the Eubank front. Opportunity for him to fight Callum Smith

Re: Is Chris Eubank Jr wasting his career?
I'd be shocked if he got half that amount. So your saying he £7 million for those fights? Cut that in half and take off the exes and tax and I'd say more like £2 million net, which is still very good money.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Sep 2019, 13:01He received £1.5m against Groves. Would have gotten less than £1m against Yildrim.
According to reports, he and DeGale would have bagged a minimum of £2m each for their fight.
Reports that he was offered £3m against Abraham.

Re: Is Chris Eubank Jr wasting his career?
Smith would likely be like Groves - too big and too strong as Eubank isn’t big enough for huge SMW.
Still think he’d be good middleweight.
He’s got link to Matchroom through his sister but nobody wants to work with the Dad.

depends how you define " career "

He’s not got the followers to be rich on Insta.
Re: Is Chris Eubank Jr wasting his career?
1 years 2 months 15 days since Eubank last boxed. Having signed with Kalle Sauerland, will they announce a fight soon?
Re: Is Chris Eubank Jr wasting his career?
Well said.
It's definitely a real problem these days and it has been over the past decade or so... We really could have had great trilogies between really even-enough fighters, but instead they've chosen to stay out of each others way for the most part.
Groves vs DeGale II and III would have been fascinating.
Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - really think we could have 3 different endings to a fight like that.
John Duddy vs Andy Lee - could have been 3 barnstormers...
Then you have the Middleweight trio; Darren Barker, Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray with not a single fight between them.
Definitely chances missed...
I'd probably also throw in Froch vs DeGale and AJ vs Chisora as single fights we didn't see...
