Re: P4P hardest UK Punchers atm
aj is the best puncher for his division in the uk
the whole 'oh, but he just accumulates' stuff doesnt fly
he has blasted guys out hard, and as said, even the absolute top of the line punchers like wilder have needed plenty of 'accumulation' wins

he is defo pulling his punches these days, does not really put himself into the right hand, not sure if it's nerves or a strategy to save energy etc

He is very gunshy these days, almost like he is in a rush to bring his hand back as soon as he throws it.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Dec 2020, 15:13he is defo pulling his punches these days, does not really put himself into the right hand, not sure if it's nerves or a strategy to save energy etc
I don't blame him really, he has been clobber so many times down the years his confidence is probably through the floor.

Daft to include Fury on any p4p puncher list.
Yes he is the main man and fighter of the year, but the beating he handed out to Wilder was all about out thinking and out gaming him, psychologically dominating him. Using his physical and mental strength to bundle him over and out the picture; a phenomenal performance but not about punching power.

Fury has decent power, probably an underrated one, but he definitely isn't a puncher, cause punchers gotta possess an ability to turn lights out with one punch. Fury is more of a volume puncher. Fury's stoppage wins are majorly technical, his opponents end up battered and tired, but not unconscious.

He rarely plants his feet and goes for power, I think he has the ability to hit harder but prefers to use speed and movement which is safer than getting drawn into a punch out.DrDuke wrote: ↑26 Dec 2020, 05:43 Fury has decent power, probably an underrated one, but he definitely isn't a puncher, cause punchers gotta possess an ability to turn lights out with one punch. When you are 6'9" and have the skills he has, you don't need to get drawn into a punch out to display your power, if you've got it. Tyson isn't a powerful man, he's huge, strong, fast, skilful and has a tremendous boxing brain. That's plenty. He's not a banger, though.Controversial wrote: ↑26 Dec 2020, 05:58He rarely plants his feet and goes for power, I think he has the ability to hit harder but prefers to use speed and movement which is safer than getting drawn into a punch out.DrDuke wrote: ↑26 Dec 2020, 05:43 Fury has decent power, probably an underrated one, but he definitely isn't a puncher, cause punchers gotta possess an ability to turn lights out with one punch. I don't think the UK has any 'elite level bangers'. I think David Haye was possibly our last.

His power was scary even then.Jimmy2020 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2020, 04:07Good shot from Whyte that was. Speaking of Chisora further though, recently retired cruiserweight David Haye dropped Chisora and stopped him. There's an example of a p4p puncher.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑24 Dec 2020, 03:53
fury couldnt put chisora down once in 22 rounds, he dominated him but it was hardly a show of power. if you are gonna mention chis, well then whyte knocked him spark out
Re: P4P hardest UK Punchers atm
A pal of mine sparred a couple of rounds with Haye, and while he never caught caught said that he could really feel the power taking them on his 16 ounce gloves

Re: P4P hardest UK Punchers atm
i don't see how aj isnt a world class puncher
he has the best depth of opposition in the division and has still dropped or stopped all but one of his opponents
omg but for some of them it was accumulation!!! uh ya, same for everyone. like i said, look at wilder-stiverne 1, look at wilder absolutely pounding on duhaupas but not being able to drop him, having to beat on molina for 9 rounds etc. of their 3 common opponents, aj has stopped 2 of them faster. does anyone doubt wilder can punch though?
pretty much no one ever was always 1 punching guys at world level.

he also looks very telegraphed and sloppy, even against low level opponents. he winds up way back and throws his shots from miles out. not too high on him right now, his bro looks better
Re: P4P hardest UK Punchers atm
oh come on maggie you cant use a fight that if they diddnt stop chisora might not have walked again as defensive for youmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑24 Dec 2020, 03:53fury couldnt put chisora down once in 22 rounds, he dominated him but it was hardly a show of power. if you are gonna mention chis, well then whyte knocked him spark out
Re: P4P hardest UK Punchers atm
totally what iam saying , if needed tyson has the power to put fighters away like Cunningham at that time in that fight. look how he went after wilder 2 , he played with del boy like a punch bag untill they stopped it , untill the wilder fight you have never seen fury throw big shoots his chin never goes past his knee . the thing is he is still fairly young for a heavey weight to more to comeControversial wrote: ↑26 Dec 2020, 05:58He rarely plants his feet and goes for power, I think he has the ability to hit harder but prefers to use speed and movement which is safer than getting drawn into a punch out.DrDuke wrote: ↑26 Dec 2020, 05:43 Fury has decent power, probably an underrated one, but he definitely isn't a puncher, cause punchers gotta possess an ability to turn lights out with one punch.
