- Saunders wins World Boxing Organization World Middleweight title by majority decision. Close tactical bout clearly won by Saunders, though many rounds were close. Lee clearly won the last two rounds.
- Saunders won the title with two knockdowns of Lee in the third round with right hands. Saunders in the post fight commentary "I noticed he kept his lead hand low. I'm not the biggest puncher."
- Saunders thanked promoter Frank Warren and his management MGM Marbella after the bout. Chris Eubank was discussed post fight for a possible rematch with Saunders for his title.
- Paul Malignaggi noted in the post fight commentary without the third round knockdown (a 10-7 round) the bout would have been a draw.
