  • Contracts signed between October 11-16, 2016.[1][2]
  • After Joshua easily defeated Molina on November 1, Eddie Hearn entered the ring and announced: "I'd like now to bring Wladimir Klitschko to the ring, and I'm officially announcing the fight against Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium on 29 April." Klitschko entered the ring and congratulated Joshua on his victory before confirming the showdown.[3][4]

  • Long-reigning heavyweight champion Klitschko was steadily ranked as the No. 1 contender by The Ring Magazine ever since being dethroned by Tyson Fury on November 28, 2015, and remained as such entering the fight.
