Kid Kenneth, another White Hope of the 1910s, was a product of the oil fields near Taft, California.[1]. A rough hard-punching brawler who usually tipped the Fairbanks at between 180 and 190, Kenneth suffered from inconsistent management, little real ring-training and lengthy periods of inactivity.
- In April of 1912 it was reported the Tulsa A.C. was looking to match Kenneth with Jeff Clarke, "The Joplin Ghost".
- A proposed match with Bob McAllister at Vernon, Calif., in April 1914 fell through, Kenneth being replaced by Sailor Grande.
- Was scheduled to fight Battling Levinsky in New Orleans Feb 8, 1915 when the latter left the arena to attend his dying father in Philadelphia.
- When Carl Morris's manager backed out of a proposed fight, Kenneth took one with Sailor Carroll.
- Kenneth was set for a rematch with Jack Lester in Tulsa's Grand Opera House in March of 1915 but was forced to cancel when he developed influenza and was placed in care. There is no recorded bout for him until three years later.
