Milt Bailey

Bailey was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1910, and moved to Philadelphia as a child. He attended Lincoln University on a football scholarship, and also played pro baseball in the Negro Leagues (earning $7 a game), in addition to having a brief amateur boxing career. He went on to work as a cut man with several Philadelphia-based fighters, including Bennie Briscoe, Matthew Saad Muhammad, and Rodney Moore, in addition to world heavyweight champions Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.
