In 1947 Jackie Keough won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions vs. Burrell Smith of Cedar Rapids, IO, the Intercity Golden Gloves' championship vs. Paddy Grimes, the National AAU vs. Tony Barone and as a member of the Chicago Golden Gloves Team representing the United States vs. Europe he was awarded the verdict vs. Johnny Ryan (of Wales), all at welterweight.
His father, John, ran the Angel Gym. He became a boat captain for the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. He was one of the judges at the 1975 Ali-Wepner title bout. Former member of the Ohio State Former Boxers Association.
