Patsy Urso was one of twelve siblings and a member of the Grand Rapids, Michigan Golden Gloves Team representing Chicago. In 1934 he won an Intercity Golden Gloves title in the 2nd division vs. Al Reid at flyweight. In 1935 he won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions by decision vs. Jesse Levels of Cleveland, Ohio, at flyweight.
Patsy introduced his elder brother Jimmy Urso to Golden Gloves boxing.
