The light heavyweight world champions list on Hickoksports.com states Freddie Mills as a UK-recognized champion from 1942 until 1946.
According to the entry on Joe Knight vs. Bob Godwin held on March 1, 1933: "[Joe] Knight was defending as the NBA had previously awarded him the title." This article on him states: "In the fall of 1934, the National Boxing Association vacated Maxie Rosenbloom's light heavyweight title. The commissions for North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida named Joe Knight as World Champion."
