James J. Walker Memorial Award

Named after New York State Senator James J. Walker, who sponsored the bill legalizing boxing in New York State in 1920, and awarded annually since 1940 by the Boxing Writers' Association of New York for "long and meritorious service in boxing." Before 1947, it was known as the "Meritorious Service Award." Starting in 2009, this award was renamed for John F.X. Condon.
