Donald Curry is the younger brother of fellow boxers Bruce Curry and Graylin Curry. Bruce and Donald were the first brothers to hold world titles at the same time.

- Curry's purported amateur boxing record is usually listed as 400-4, while some sources claim 400-6. Curry thinks he might have had more than 404 amateur bouts, but he is sure he lost only four times. [2]

- Defeated Marlon Starling by a fifteen-round unanimous decision to defend the IBF Welterweight Championship on February 4, 1984.
Curry had been awarded the title by the newly founded IBF before the fight. [3] - Defeated WBC Welterweight Champion Milton McCrory by a second-round KO to become the Undisputed World Welterweight Champion on December 6, 1985.
